Gabidulla Ospankulov, Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, met with representatives of the French company Boehringer Ingelheim, along with representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan, QazBioPharm National Holding JSC, and Kazakh Invest National Company JSC.

Boehringer Ingelheim is one of the world's leading pharmaceutical companies, a leader in the production of foot-and-mouth disease vaccines and has its own vaccine bank.

During the meeting, the current status and prospects for the implementation of an investment project for the production of veterinary vaccines against foot-and-mouth disease were discussed. The first year of cooperation has shown positive results, and a transition to a phase involving a gradual transfer of competencies and technologies is planned for the future.

"The implementation of this project will not only strengthen Kazakhstan's biological security but also develop export-oriented production with a high level of localization," emphasized G. Ospankulov.

During the talks, the participants focused on strategic areas for further cooperation, including the development of scientific and industrial cooperation and increased localization of production. The creation of a regional hub for the production and export of vaccines to neighboring countries, based at a Kazakhstani facility, was identified as a key priority.

Boehringer Ingelheim confirmed its interest in developing long-term cooperation with Kazakhstan, noting the country's strategic importance in the company's global operations.

At the end of the meeting, the participants agreed to continue joint efforts to implement the project, including addressing issues of adapting vaccines to current epizootic conditions and further attracting investment in Kazakhstan's agribiotechnology sector.
