New Production of Automotive Components in Kazakhstan
At the site of JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST," Yerzhan Yelekeyev, the Chairman of the Board of the national company, met with the management of JSC "MS Automotive," a manufacturer of automotive components, and "Sibur Holding," a polymer manufacturer. During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of localizing the production of automotive components in Kazakhstan and the investors' plans to construct the plant.
The Chairman of the Management Board told the company's representatives about the growing potential of the automotive industry in the country. Thus, by the end of 2023, over 148 thousand units were produced in Kazakhstan, 30% higher than the previous year. In the next three years, it is planned to commission new automobile plants, which, in turn, will lead to an increase in production capacity to 350-450 thousand cars per year.
Y. Yelekeyev noted the state support measures provided to investors in priority sectors, which aimed to reduce import dependence, modernize existing and create new industries, and provide the necessary raw materials and financing.
According to investors, the experience of "MS Automotive" and "Sibur Holding" in the conditions of an actively developing automotive market will allow the creation of new enterprises for the production of automotive components in the country. Investors plan to produce polymer and elastomeric materials, which will not only reduce the cost of assembling cars but also create a significant number of additional jobs. Such materials are necessary in the automotive industry for the production of paints and varnishes, as well as plastic and rubber products.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to strengthen investment cooperation to implement promising projects further.
Additionally, JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST," together with JSC "NMH "Baiterek," arranged investors' meetings with major Kazakhstani automakers and a visit to the Hyundai Motors car manufacturing plant.
