Kazakhstan and Finland: Expanding Investment Opportunities

On October 11, 2022, the “Kazakh-Finnish Round Table” was held in Helsinki (Finland).

The Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan Serikkali Brekeshev and Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland Mikko Kivikosi made welcoming speeches.

The Deputy Chairman of the Board of of "NC "KAZAKH INVEST" JSC Ruslan Ibraimov presented the presentation of a favorable investment climate.

«In 2021, the inflow of direct investment from Finland increased by 24%. I am sure that today's investment event will open up new opportunities and prospects for Finnish enterprises, which will facilitate the inflow of direct investment from Finland,” Ruslan Ibraimov said in his speech.

At the “Kazakhstan-Finnish round table” presentations were made by the head of the AIFC Administration Nurlan Toimbek, the General Director of "KTZ Express" JSC Askar Klyshbekov, the Director of the Legal Department of KIDF Aidyn Mukhametzhanov, the Managing Director for Development with Government Agencies of "Kazakhtelecom" JSC Akimzhan Akylbekov and the Director of the Department of Analytics of International markets "CRTP QazTrade" JSC Ozhet Shegirbayev.

Within the framework of the forum, bilateral meetings were held in the G2B format with the participation of the MEGPR of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Finland, KAZAKH INVEST with the heads of large Finnish companies ABB Finland, Tikkurila and Teknos.

“Kazakhstan is considered by our group of companies as a market of great opportunities and industrial potential. We are ready to consider the opening and modernization of technological production facilities, traditional generation, increasing our presence in renewable energy projects, hydrogen energy within the framework of the Green Hydrogen Alliance of Kazakhstan created on the initiative of KAZAKH INVEST," - said Outi Kallio, Commercial Director of Teknos.

KAZAKH INVEST, together with representatives of Team Finland, held a number of meetings on the sidelines of the investment event with the heads of Finnish companies Tukes, Scandi, Nurminen Logistics, ISKU, Kone and other representatives of the Finnish business community.

The head of the Finnish Agency for Safety and Chemicals "TUKES" Kimmo Peltonen expressed his readiness to make his visit to Kazakhstan. Cooperation will increase the potential of chemical products manufactured in the Republic of Kazakhstan, consider the Finnish model for assessing risks in the circulation, production of chemical industry goods in order to create favorable conditions for the dynamic and sustainable development of this industry.

Within the framework of the round table, memorandums of cooperation were signed between Zhasyl Damu JSC and the Finnish companies KaukoInternational, Hlad in the field of green energy.
