Kazakhstan and Bulgaria are planning to develop investment cooperation.
In Astana, a delegation from Bulgaria led by the acting Minister of Tourism of Bulgaria Ilin Dimitrov arrived. During the visit, the delegates held a meeting with the Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ardak Zebeshev and the Chairman of the Board of JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST", Meirzhan Yussupov.
The Minister of Tourism of Bulgaria, Ilin Dimitrov, emphasized the importance of developing bilateral relations and noted that Kazakhstan is the first country he has visited after taking office as Minister. According to him, the main goal of the trip to Kazakhstan is to develop relations in the fields of tourism and education, as well as the prospect of opening a direct flight between the countries in the future.
In turn, the Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ardak Zebeshev, informed the Bulgarian delegation about the investment opportunities in Kazakhstan, noting that the trade and economic relations between our countries have a significant potential for development.
The Chairman of the Board of JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST", Meirzhan Yussupov, spoke about the activities of the national company, the preferences provided by Kazakhstan for investors, and expressed readiness to provide full support to Bulgarian companies in implementing investment projects in Kazakhstan.
Bulgaria is an important partner of Kazakhstan in the European Union, and there are a number of intergovernmental agreements between the countries aimed at deepening trade and economic cooperation, promoting and protecting mutual investments.
The bilateral trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Bulgaria in 2021 compared to 2020 increased by 60% and amounted to $390.8 million. Of this, Kazakhstan's export amounted to $354 million, import - $35.9 million. From 2005 to 2022, the total inflow of investments from Bulgaria to Kazakhstan was $59.5 million.
