The Ombudsman is a person appointed by the Company’s Board of Directors whose role is to provide consultations to employees who apply to him/her and to assist in resolving labor disputes, conflicts, and social and labor–related issues, as well as in ensuring compliance with the principles of business ethics by the Company’s employees.
The main functions of the Ombudsman include:
- collecting information on non-compliance with the provisions of the Code of Business Ethics;
- providing consultations to Employees and Officials on the provisions of the Code of Business Ethics;
- initiating the review of disputes related to violations of the Code of Business Ethics and participating in their resolution;
- providing consultations on corporate conflicts and conflicts of interest, while coordinating actions with persons responsible for resolving corporate conflicts and conflicts of interest;
- assisting applicants in developing a mutually acceptable, constructive, and implementable solution in compliance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including ensuring confidentiality where necessary;
- developing recommendations for persons involved in disputes, conflicts, or problematic situations aimed at conflict (dispute) resolution;
- advising Officials on the resolution and prevention of conflicts (disputes) of a systemic, legal, and organizational nature, as well as on compliance with the principles of business ethics;
- submitting identified systemic issues requiring appropriate decisions (comprehensive measures) for consideration by the relevant bodies, Officials and/or organizations, and proposing constructive solutions to address them;
- taking other recommendatory measures, including those aimed at restoring violated rights and legitimate interests.
With regard to matters related to the provisions of the Code and/or ethical issues arising in the course of work, as well as facts of violations of the Code, Officials and employees of the Company, as well as other interested parties, are entitled to apply either in written form (download Appendix 1) or orally for appropriate action by contacting:
