Construction of a waste-based electricity generation complex is planned in Almaty

Today, Gabidulla Ospankulov, Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, met with representatives of Junxin Environmental Protection (Almaty) LLP. The company is implementing an investment project to generate electricity from waste recycling.

The project envisions the construction of a high-tech solid waste processing complex in Almaty, with a capacity of up to 2,000 tons per day and generating up to 60 MW of electricity. The initiative will create 120 permanent jobs and at least 700 during the construction phase. The total investment is $280 million.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the project's prospects and advantages. Company representatives noted the preparatory status and outlined the tasks already completed prior to the commencement of construction and installation work.

They also discussed the possibility of concluding an investment contract for the implementation of this project.

Gabidulla Ospankulov expressed his willingness to facilitate the project's development and provide support with the necessary procedures.
