SCO Investors Association Holds Its First Meeting

The inaugural meeting of the Investors Association of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states took place in Astana. The event brought together representatives of government bodies, as well as more than 20 investment agencies and funds from SCO countries.
During the meeting, participants discussed promising areas of cooperation, opportunities for implementing investment projects, and measures to improve the investment climate.
Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of KAZAKH INVEST, Madiyar Sultanbek, emphasized the significance of this initiative in strengthening economic ties among SCO countries and creating new business opportunities in the region.
"The first meeting of the Investors Association of SCO member states is an important step towards deepening economic cooperation. We are confident that this new platform will serve as an effective tool for experience exchange and for uniting efforts aimed at attracting investments into key sectors of the economy," noted Madiyar Sultanbek.
As a result of the meeting, the Association's Work Plan was approved, and a final Protocol was signed.
The Investors Association of SCO Member States was established by a decision of the SCO Heads of State Council during the Astana Summit on July 4, 2024. It serves as a multilateral advisory and expert platform for developing the direct and portfolio investment market within the SCO framework, attracting investments into priority economic sectors of member countries, and providing comprehensive support for investment projects.
