Kazakhstan and Qatar Signed Commercial Documents Worth $17.6 Billion
Twelve commercial documents worth $17.6 billion were signed in Doha during the Kazakhstan-Qatar investment round table with the participation of Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The event was organized with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Embassy of Kazakhstan in the State of Qatar, and JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST."
Among the signed documents is an agreement between JSC "NC "Qazaq Gaz" and «UCC Holding» on constructing a gas processing plant at the Kashagan field. The total cost of the projects will exceed $2 billion.
In addition, JSC "NC "Qazaq Gaz" signed agreements with «UCC Holding»on the construction of a new compressor station KS-14 and the main gas pipeline KS-14-Aktobe-Kostanay and on the implementation of the project for the construction of the second line of the main gas pipeline Beineu-Bozoy-Shymkent. These projects will target developing infrastructure, ensuring efficient gas transportation, expanding supply opportunities, and strengthening the region's energy security.
At the same time, JSC "NUH "Baiterek," "Hassad Food," and "Tiryaki Agro" signed a memorandum of cooperation on the construction of a grain processing plant in Astana. The planned design capacity of grain processing will be up to 250 thousand tons of wheat and 100 thousand tons of peas per year. In implementing this project, the Qatari side has attracted a technological partner from Turkey – Tiryaki Agro, and a Canadian company – Sunrise Foods International. The planned cost of the project is $200 million.
Additionally, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Samruk-Kazyna JSC, and Pearl Overseas LLC signed a document on the construction of a combined-cycle gas plant with a capacity of ~1144 MW in the Kyzylorda region. The total cost of the project will exceed $1.7 billion.
