KAZAKH INVEST and VinGroup Discussed Prospects for Cooperation in Electric Transport and Green Mobility
Madiyar Sultanbek, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of NC “KAZAKH INVEST”, held a meeting with the delegation of the Vietnamese conglomerate VinGroup SNG, which included representatives of its subsidiary GSM (Green and Smart Mobility) led by CEO Nguyen Van Thanh.
During the talks, the parties discussed prospects for implementing projects in electric transport, charging infrastructure, and sustainable mobility in Kazakhstan, as well as the possibility of establishing a regional GSM office in Almaty, which would serve as a coordination hub for the company’s operations across the CIS region.
A subsidiary of VinGroup, GSM is the largest electric mobility platform in Southeast Asia. Under the Xanh SM brand, it serves over 12 million customers, operates around 100,000 electric vehicles, holds a 40% market share in Vietnam’s taxi industry, and is actively expanding into other countries in the region.
In Kazakhstan, VinGroup is considering launching VinFast electric passenger transport services, developing a network of EV charging stations, and localizing service and production facilities. In addition, the company expressed interest in participating in projects related to education, healthcare, real estate development, and smart city infrastructure.
Madiyar Sultanbek emphasized that VinGroup’s initiative aligns with Kazakhstan’s strategy for developing a green economy and environmentally friendly transport, noting that KAZAKH INVEST stands ready to provide comprehensive support at all stages of project implementation:
“The development of electric transport and charging infrastructure is one of the key priorities of Kazakhstan’s environmental modernization. We welcome VinGroup’s interest in technology localization and are ready to facilitate all aspects of the project’s launch,” – he stated.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed their commitment to continue joint project development and identify specific areas of cooperation in e-mobility, digital technologies, and sustainable development.
