The Turkish conglomerate Alarko is investing $650 million in Kazakhstan's agricultural sector

Alarko, a Turkish holding company, is prepared to construct greenhouse complexes spanning 500 hectares in Kazakhstan. Over the next five years, the company plans to invest approximately $650 million in the agricultural industry of the country. This investment collaboration has been facilitated by the "National Company "KAZAKH INVEST" JSC.

Today, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Alarko Holding, providing momentum for project implementation.

According to the document, the Turkish company will commence the construction of greenhouse complexes in Kazakhstan by the end of 2023. The initial projects are expected to be completed by the summer of 2024.

It is envisioned that the new greenhouses will be established in the southern regions of Kazakhstan. Representatives from Alarko will soon visit these regions to select the optimal location for the upcoming project.

Once specific land plots are identified, along with project parameters, a more detailed Roadmap will be developed, outlining specific timelines and implementation stages. The Ministry of Agriculture is committed to providing all necessary conditions and comprehensive support.

It's noteworthy that Alarko Holding is among the largest companies in Turkey. The company is involved in projects across various sectors such as energy, tourism, construction, agriculture, and trade. Last year, Alarko ventured into agro-sector investments, focusing on supplemental cultivation in greenhouses, open-field agriculture, organic-mineral fertilizers, food processing, sales, and agricultural R&D technologies.
