News - Green Energy, Infrastructure, and Digitization: Kazakhstan signs 20 documents totaling $4.85 billion during COP28 in Dubai

During the visit of the Head of State Kasym-Jomart Tokayev to the UAE, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and JSC "National Company "KAZAKH INVEST," 20 commercial documents were signed, totaling $4.85 billion.

In particular, the governments of Kazakhstan and the UAE reached an agreement on the construction project of a 1 GW wind power station in Kazakhstan. The project is expected to be implemented with the assistance of the company "Masdar," with a project cost of $1.4 billion.

A Memorandum of Understanding on development of energy projects in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan was signed by the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan, JSC "Samruk-Kazyna," and the Ministry of Investments of the United Arab Emirates. The document implies the implementation of low-carbon energy projects with a total capacity of 10 GW.

Additionally, JSC "Samruk-Kazyna" and "ACWA Power" agreed on the joint development of a project for the construction of wind power stations with a total capacity of 1 GW and an energy storage system in the Zhetysu region.

An investment agreement was signed between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the French company "TotalEnergies" for the implementation of a project involving the development, construction, and operation of a wind power station with a total capacity of 1 GW. The project will be implemented in the Zhambyl region.

Furthermore, "Qazaqstan Investment Corporation" signed a Memorandum of Understanding with "ADQ" on strategic partnership in the creation of a joint financing mechanism for venture projects.

A joint venture agreement was signed between JSC "National Company "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" and "Abu Dhabi Ports Group." The parties agreed to collaborate in five key areas - maritime transportation, maritime and dry ports, railway logistics, digitization, and trading.

JSC "National Company "KAZAKH INVEST" and the Emirati company "Al Amana Power Solutions" are commencing the development of renewable energy projects with investments exceeding $100 million.

JSC "Samruk-Kazyna" signed an agreement to establish a joint venture with "Presight.AI" to implement projects in the field of digitization and information technologies.

20. Document on the creation of an Alliance between JSC "Export Credit Insurance Corporation "KazakhExport"" and "Net Zero Export Credit Agencies Alliance" (NZECA). The Alliance will support exporters in their transition to a low-carbon economy.
