Prospects for the Development of Coal Chemistry were Discussed at KAZAKH INVEST
A meeting was held at the platform of JSC "NC" KAZAKH INVEST between the Chairman of the Management Board of the national company Yerzhan Yelekeyev and the Chairman of the Association" Kazakhstan Union of Chemical Industry "KAZHIMPROM" Oleg Pak and the representative of the Alliance of Entrepreneurs "Parasat" Serik Isimbayev on cooperation in the chemical industry.
During the meeting, the prospects for the development of coal chemical projects in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the potential for attracting investments in this area were discussed.
Oleg Pak emphasized that Kazakhstan is among the top ten countries in the world in terms of coal reserves, with a volume of more than 33.6 billion tons. At the same time, in the current realities, the coal industry should receive further impetus in the new strategy for the development of coal companies with a gradual transition to coal chemistry. According to him, Kazakhstan has the potential for the production and subsequent processing of 400 types of coal chemical products, such as ammonia nitrate, purified methanol, ethylene, polypropylene, liquefied coal gas, sulfur, etc.
In turn, Yerzhan Yelekeyev noted that the transition to deep coal processing has great prospects, considering the country's commitments under the Paris agreements, as well as the carbon neutrality strategy of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan until 2060. The Chairman of the national company spoke about measures of state support for investors and assured that KAZAKH INVEST is ready to provide support in finding investors, as well as in organizing negotiations with interested companies.
In conclusion, the parties agreed to expand partnership in projects for further coal processing.
