Kazakhstan and China Signed 47 Documents Worth $22 Billion at the Investment Roundtable,
During the investment roundtable, which was attended by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and representatives of business circles from China in Xi'an, 47 documents were signed with a total value of $22 billion. The event was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, "NC "KAZAKH INVEST" JSC, the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in China with the support of "Samruk-Kazyna" JSC.
One of the key documents was an agreement on the construction of a non-ferrous metals smelter by the company "NFC". In the first stage of the agreement, a smelter with a capacity of 300,000 tons of cathode copper will be built.
In addition, a document on cooperation in the field of renewable energy and energy storage systems was signed, which includes plans to build wind power plants with a total capacity of 1 GW in the Zhambyl region and the organization of wind power component production in Kazakhstan. The project will be implemented jointly with "China Power International Holding" and "SANY Renewable Energy" companies.
The next document that was signed is related to the development of hot briquetted iron (HBI) production. It envisages the development of high-quality concentrate and the construction of an HBI production plant in Rudny, Kostanay region. It is expected that the annual production volume of HBI will reach up to 4 million tons.
Furthermore, as part of the implementation of the multi-brand Astana Motors Manufacturing Kazakhstan plant project, the production of vehicles under the brands Changan, Haval, and Chery using the semi-knockdown production method is planned. The production target is a minimum of 30,000 units of vehicles per year for each of the mentioned brands.
Additionally, "Orbis" and "EXEED Automobile" signed an agreement on the construction of an Exeed automobile production plant with a capacity of 80,000 vehicles per year.
As part of strengthening relations in the agricultural sector between the countries, an agreement was signed for the construction of a greenhouse complex for growing cherry tomatoes in the Almaty region by "Beijing Gupu Agricultural Technology Service."
Another agreement is a project for the production of household appliances by "HKC Corporation." It is planned to attract investments of over 11.8 billion tenge, and the production capacity of the enterprise will be up to 500,000 units of household appliances per year.
The China Development Bank has expressed readiness to finance investment projects in various key sectors of Kazakhstan, using the tools of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan. The priority sectors identified by the China Development Bank include the oil and gas industry, petrochemicals, chemicals, mining, energy, transportation, construction materials, agriculture, communication means, production, and industrial parks.
Additionally, an agreement was signed for the production of rain irrigation systems for irrigation of various crops, including cereals, vegetables, fruits, and other plants.
Furthermore, an announcement was made regarding the implementation of a joint project by "SilkwayTransit," "China National Technical Import & Export Corporation," and "CRRC Dalian" for the construction of a locomotive assembly plant in the Almaty region.
The signing of such a significant number of documents is a clear indication of the strengthening and deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation. They reflect the commitment of both sides to long-term and mutually beneficial collaboration in various sectors of the economy.
