Mamin discussed coop with Royal Dutch Shell execs

RK Prime Minister Askar Mamin held a meeting with the Royal Dutch Shell executives: Director of International Exploration and Production Andrew Brown, executive vice president of deep-water projects Wael Sawan, executive vice president of joint ventures Gerald Schotman.

The parties reviewed a range of bilateral cooperation issues. A. Brown said that the company is interested in further expanding its presence and share in the projects in Kazakhstan. The issues of joint activities for the development of Kashagan and Karachaganak fields, participation in the development of the Kalamkas and Khazar wells in the Zhemchuzhina section were considered.

A promising direction for the company is also the development of alternative energy sources. Royal Dutch Shell is working on a project to build a solar power plant in the city of Taraz.

Prime Minister A. Mamin noted that the company is among the major investors and that the country is intensifying measures to ensure a favorable environment for the investment projects and protection of the investors' rights.

The parties expressed their intention to expand the interaction areas and implement new joint projects.
