World's Largest Manufacturer of Additive Technologies to Implement Projects in Kazakhstan

On the sidelines of the international business conference on additive technologies, European AM Excellence Days, in Hinwil (Switzerland), Satbayev University, EOS GmbH (Germany), and NORM Additive (Turkey) signed a Framework agreement on the creation of a consortium. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Swiss Confederation Kairat Sarzhanov and the Official Representative of JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST" in Europe Saken Olzhabayev attended the signing ceremony.

Within the consortium, a Center for Additive Technologies will be created on the basis of the Institute of Physics and Technology in Almaty. The parties intend to implement a pilot project to develop a scientific and innovative competence center for working with materials such as polyamide and metal powders to produce various components on the company's 3D printers.

At the first stage, the parties plan to create an innovation center for technology transfer and the creation of competencies. The next stage involves the creation of a research and innovation center (R&D), where the first small products will be produced and tested. The third stage is the commercial production of specific components for certain companies (automotive, aerospace, engineering, oil and gas industry, medicine). As the last stage in the development of the company's activities in Kazakhstan, it is planned to study materials, including polymers and their components, which can be used in the production of industrial-scale 3D printers.

The potential of this project in the future will allow creating a niche industry in Kazakhstan with the production of high-value-added products that can compete in the global market, as there is a shortage of 3D manufacturers of high-quality parts.
