Kazakh Business is Interested in Expanding Partnerships with Germany

A Kazakh government and business delegation headed by Vice Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Saparbekov took part in a number of economic events in Berlin during a visit to Germany.

Meetings were held with leading German business associations that play an important role in shaping the economic policy of the German Federal Government. The delegation presented the investment and industrial potential of Kazakhstan, as well as presented a number of specific projects.

The negotiations showed the high interest of German business in expanding its presence in the Kazakh market and implementing joint projects.

The participants of the events positively perceived the socio-economic reforms being carried out in Kazakhstan, designed to further increase the investment attractiveness of the country for foreign partners.

In particular, at a round table with member companies of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy (OA), headed by Executive Director Michael Harms, issues of continuing active cooperation with this key umbrella organization coordinating the development of foreign economic relations of German business in 29 countries of Eastern Europe and Asia were discussed.

The meeting with Chairman of the Board of the Federal Union of Small and Medium–Sized Businesses (BVMW) Christoph Ahlhaus took place on the sidelines of the annual largest forum of this organization - "Zukunftstag Mittelstand 2024". It is attended by over 5,000 companies, many of which belong to the category of so-called "hidden champions", i.e., with relatively small production volumes, they are technological leaders and innovators in their industries. The members of the delegation also visited the stands of the most promising enterprises for cooperation and held negotiations on establishing a business partnership.

At a meeting with the Federal Union for the Promotion of Economic Development and Foreign Economic Relations (BWA), headed by Chairman of the Board Michael Schuman, the parties discussed the possibility of establishing contacts with members of the organization interested in entering the Kazakh market.

As a result of the events, a number of memorandums of intent were signed in such areas as the food industry, industry, spare parts supply, etc.

For reference: The Federal Union of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses of Germany (BVMW) was established in 1975 and is the largest public association of entrepreneurs in the country. Represents the interests of more than 800 thousand companies with more than 15 million employees. The main goal of the organization is to improve the conditions and rules of economic policy for each entrepreneur. BVMW has 400 branches in Germany and 43 foreign representative offices worldwide.

The Federal Union for the Promotion of Economic Development and Foreign Economic Activity (BWA) carries out its activities in order to combine the efforts of government, business and society as a whole to solve urgent economic problems. The main goal is to promote the development of regional, national and international economies.
