Kazakh gardeners will be able to increase the yield capacity by 5 times using dutch technologies

To develop the fruit-growing sector in Kazakhstan, the Dutch Government in cooperation with a group of Dutch entrepreneurs is implementing a project of «Dutch Fruit Solutions Kazakhstan» aimed at introducing new technologies in Kazakhstan.

In the second quarter of this year, representatives of the company started the active stage of the project implementation, 8 crops brought fr om the Netherlands were planted: pears, plums, cherries, apples, asparagus, blueberries, currants and strawberries.

"KAZAKH INVEST" National Company” JSC assisted in issues with equipment delivery to the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan and passing of the customs procedures. It should be reminded that the single operator for attracting investment provides assistance to investors 24/7.

The Dutch Fruit Solutions Kazakhstan project was created by the government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and a group of companies to help develop an efficient and sustainable fruit-growing sector in Kazakhstan. Currently, the consortium consists of 14 Dutch companies, each of which has modern solutions and new technologies.

The Dutch Fruit Solutions Kazakhstan aims to conclude cooperation agreements with research organizations in the fruit-growing sector of Kazakhstan, aimed at updating and expansion of the existing fruit-growing system in terms of growing solid, stone fruits and berry crops: planting material without viruses, design and implementation of (super-) intensive fruit orchards. The project involves the optimization of the activities before, during and after harvest.

The essence of the project is to create a demonstration area of the high-tech orchard with drip irrigation technology, where the best technologies from the Netherlands in the horticultural industry will be demonstrated. The demonstration area is planned to accommodate planting material, seedlings of Apple trees, pears, plums, apricots and cherries. Areas with currants, blueberries, strawberries and asparagus are also planned. In addition, the Dutch side will provide farmers with modern planting materials and the processing technologies, will help in the storage and processing of the harvest in the fruit-growing sector of Kazakhstan. These measures will improve the productivity and quality of fruit-growing sector, as well as improve its food safety. Within the framework of the DFSK consortium, it is planned to cooperate not only in the B2B segment - leading universities and institutes in the Netherlands will cooperate with Kazakh agricultural institutes. The third link in this chain is cooperation at the state level in various areas of agriculture on phytosanitary and quarantine inspections.

It should be reminded that a meeting was held with the Prime-Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Mr. Mark Rutte during the official visit of the Prime-Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Askar Mamin to the Kingdom of the Netherlands in October 2019. Have been discussed the prospects for bilateral investment and trade and economic cooperation by parties during the negotiations. Along with this, the Prime-Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Askar Mamin attended the Kazakh-Dutch business forum, held negotiations with Shell, BITFURY, SUEZ GROUP, Farm Frites, Dutch Fruit Solutions Kazakhstan and also visited a number of innovative facilities.

In the Netherlands, 2019, an Agreement was signed between the Kazakh Scientific Research Institute of Horticulture and Viticulture and partners from the Netherlands - Dutch Fruit Solutions Kazakhstan on establishment of demonstration plot of 2 hectares on the territory of the Institute in Talgar district wh ere students and scientists can learn a new experience with the use of advanced technologies, fertigation system, intensive garden, berry bushes and fruit nursery.
