Kazakhstan Strengthens Cooperation with Canada in Industry and Investment
In Toronto, as part of PDAC-2025, the Kazakh delegation held a series of meetings with Canadian business representatives and government officials to discuss investment opportunities, industrial cooperation, and the strengthening of bilateral relations. The meetings were attended by Gabidulla Ospankulov, Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.
During the "Sweating Assets – Optimizing for Peak Performance" business breakfast, the Kazakh delegation engaged in discussions with international investors on optimizing production assets and new approaches to efficient resource management.
The delegation then met with the leadership of Hatch, a company specializing in innovative solutions for the mining industry. The parties discussed technological partnerships and the implementation of advanced engineering solutions at Kazakh enterprises.
Throughout the day, a series of bilateral meetings took place with leading companies, including Teck Resources, Cameco, First Quantum Minerals, and Nutrien. Negotiations focused on investment projects in exploration and mining, the adoption of modern technologies in the mining sector, and opportunities for localization of production.
"Kazakhstan remains a reliable partner for international companies in the subsoil use sector. Our country has vast potential in the extraction and processing of strategically important metals, and we are keen to expand cooperation with leading global corporations," said Gabidulla Ospankulov.
Additionally, the Kazakh delegation held talks with representatives of BacTech Environmental Corporation, which develops environmentally safe waste processing technologies for the mining industry. Discussions focused on introducing biotechnology solutions at Kazakh enterprises, aimed at increasing metal extraction efficiency and reducing environmental impact.
The Kazakh delegation also participated in Kazakhstan-Canada political consultations, where priority areas for bilateral cooperation, investment attraction mechanisms, and trade development between the two countries were discussed.
The business program concluded with the delegation attending an official reception hosted by Cameco, where discussions continued on further cooperation in nuclear energy and uranium mining.
