The Chairman of the Board of JSC “NC “KAZAKH INVEST” Meirzhan Yussupov took part in the panel session “Kazakhstan - Qatar: Opportunities”, which was held as part of the international conference Astana Finance Days-2022. Also among the participants of the panel session were the representative of the Qatar Stock Exchange (Qatar Stock Exchange) Abdulrahman al-Saed, the representative of the Qatari law firm K&L Gates Amjad Hussein, the сhairman of the Board of JSC NC QazaqGaz Sanzhar Zharkeshov, and the AIFC Managing Director for Legal Affairs Ishak Burni.

During the discussion, speakers discussed the prospects for cooperation between Kazakhstan and Qatar in the field of investment projects, experience of developing financial markets, as well as the importance of approaching the bilateral environment of relations.

Head of KAZAKH INVEST Meirzhan Yussupov noted the growing dynamics of cooperation between the countries, emphasizing increasing number of visits of delegations, which indicate interest of the parties in developing and strengthening relations. Meirzhan Yussupov also drew attention to the problems of global food security, which were exposed by the recent pandemic. In this regard, it is especially important to create exclusive export-oriented farm production in Kazakhstan.

“Kazakhstan is interested in becoming an international food supplier. This is in line with the task of reforming agriculture, developing regions, improving the welfare of the population, and creating new jobs. The list of investment proposals provided by KAZAKH INVEST includes large projects. Our priority is to increase the productivity of agriculture through the introduction of new technologies and the processing of agricultural products in excess of exports,” Meirzhan Yussupov said.

Along with this, during the panel session, speakers discussed issues of the participation of Qatari capital in the development of metallurgy, petrochemicals, tourism, and logistic.
