Kazakhstan and Jordan Discuss Investment Cooperation

On September 3, a Kazakh-Jordanian round table was held in Amman (Jordan) with the participation of the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Jordan, Talgat Shaldanbai, and the Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Gabidulla Ospankulov. The event, organized by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Jordan with the support of JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST," was attended by about 100 representatives of government agencies and the two countries' private sector. The round table also included the signing of 9 bilateral documents, which served as an essential step in strengthening trade, economic, and investment ties between the two countries.

The main topic of discussion was cooperation in implementing projects to attract investments in Kazakhstan's non-commodity sector, including agriculture, food industry, information technology, sustainable energy, light industry, transport and logistics, etc.

In his speech, G. Ospankulov presented Kazakhstan's trade and investment potential to the participants and noted the further need for the development of bilateral cooperation, inviting Jordanian businesses to implement joint projects in Kazakhstan.

Following the results of the round table, B2B meetings were also held to discuss in-depth opportunities in promising areas of cooperation. The Jordanian business was represented by companies such as Naouri Group, Falcons Soft Company, Hijazi & Gousheh, Kawar Group, Sukhtian Group, and Harmony Investment. Thus, Kazakhstan and Jordan confirmed their mutual interest in strengthening economic ties and expanding investment cooperation.

In addition, the following documents were signed on the sidelines of the event:

  1. Memorandum of Understanding between the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan and the Jordanian Chamber of Commerce;

  2. Memorandum of Cooperation between Astana Technical University and Al Hussein Technical University;

  3. Memorandum of Cooperation between the International Center for Green Technologies and Investment Projects and Jordan Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Fund (JREEEF);

  4. Memorandum of Technical Cooperation between NAFITH and Yurt Tech LLP;

  5. Memorandum of Understanding between JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST" and ELAF Investment Group;

  6. Memorandum of Understanding  between "Quryq Port" LLP  and "NAFITH;"

  7. Memorandum of cooperation in the field of household chemicals and perfumery production between JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST" and HRAIZ Parfume;

  8. Memorandum of Understanding between RWA Service LLP and NAFITH;

  9. Memorandum of Understanding on trade cooperation between JSC "Center for Trade Policy Development "QazTrade" and "Hijazi&Ghoshen – (Al Majd)."
