KAZAKH INVEST at the Qarmet Recycling Forum
Azamat Kozhanov, Managing Director of JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST," participated in the Recycling Forum organized by Qarmet JSC. The forum has become a unique platform for discussing the prospects of waste recycling as a key resource for Kazakhstan's industrial and environmental development.
Andrey Lavrentiev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qarmet JSC, delivered a welcoming speech. In it, he stressed the importance of identifying the necessary innovations and regulatory changes for effective waste management.
As part of the forum's panel discussion on the role of clusters and the multiplicative effect of processing technogenic mineral formations for the regional economy, A. Kozhanov made a speech where he stressed the need to develop measures to increase the processing of technogenic mineral formations. The Managing Director stressed the importance of an integrated approach to waste recycling, noting that creating industrial clusters can significantly improve the efficiency of using technogenic mineral formations, create new jobs, reduce waste, and develop and implement innovative technologies. Further, A. Kozhanov acquainted the participants with the activities of KAZAKH INVEST in this direction.
"KAZAKH INVEST, in turn, is also actively working towards developing technogenic mineral formations processing in Kazakhstan. Thus, active work is underway to prepare information on technogenic mineral formations on the Kazakhmys balance sheet to attract investments in their processing. Investors from countries such as Canada, Great Britain, China, and Turkey are interested in processing TMOS in Kazakhstan," the Managing Director noted.
Following the forum's results, several memorandums of cooperation were signed, which underlines the participants' commitment to the common goals of sustainable development.
Participation in the forum was a continuation of the work on implementing the agreements reached following the working trip of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrov to the Karaganda region. During the trip, the Deputy Minister visited the metallurgical plant of Qarmet JSC and held a meeting with the General Director of the company Vadim Basin, during which the parties discussed the company's plans to increase production and production capacities, solve logistical issues, as well as expand investment activities.
