Canadian businesses are interested in implementing projects in the field of mining and processing of mineral resources in Kazakhstan
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan in Canada, Akylbek Kamaldinov, and the representative of "NC "KAZAKH INVEST" JSC in North America, Galymzhan Matayev, participated in the annual international mining conference and exhibition "AME BC Roundup-2023" in Vancouver. The conference annually attracts about 5 thousand participants from 50 countries.
During the event, the Kazakh delegation held a series of meetings with major Canadian mining companies, considering the possibility of developing business cooperation with our country. Company leaders positively received information about the changes in the field of mineral resources and geological exploration that are being carried out in Kazakhstan and expressed their readiness to discuss specific projects and plans for entering the Kazakh market.
Kazakh representatives spoke at the session "Mining in a Transitional World: Trends and Opportunities in Eurasia" dedicated to the investment attractiveness of the mining industry in Central Asian, Turkish and Mongolian countries, organized by the Canada-Eurasia Trade Council.
In his speech, Ambassador Akylbek Kamaldinov informed the participants about the implementation of economic reforms in Kazakhstan and the measures being taken to further improve the business environment in the country. In his presentation, the representative of KAZAKH INVEST, Galymzhan Matayev, spoke about the support measures that the National Company can provide, with a special emphasis on the existing potential of new natural resource deposits in Kazakhstan.
In conclusion of the visit, the Kazakh delegation participated in a reception with the leaders of 30 local companies, during which negotiations were held on possible areas of mutually beneficial cooperation. The event was organized by Senator of Canada Victor Oh, who visited Astana in November 2022 as an independent observer at the Presidential Elections in Kazakhstan.
As a result of the conference, Canadian companies were invited to participate in the work of the Kazakh-Canadian Business Forum, which will be held on March 5, 2023 at the venue of the International Mining Conference "Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada" (PDAC) in Toronto.
