Innovative Production of British Concrete Canvas Planned to Be Localized in Kazakhstan
At the site of JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST," Yerzhan Yelekeyev, Chairman of the Board held a meeting with the management of the British Concrete Canvas Ltd., during which the parties discussed the possibility of building a plant for the production of concrete canvas in Kazakhstan.
To date, the company has opened a representative office in Kazakhstan. United Concrete Canvas LLP is studying the country's market needs and negotiating with relevant ministries and local executive bodies of several regions. Initially, the company planned to localize production in the Russian Federation, but due to the geopolitical situation, the ultimate choice was made in favor of Kazakhstan.
According to the company's representatives, the planned project will solve the urgent problems of constructing and reconstructing irrigation systems in Kazakhstan through the innovative Concrete Canvas technology. In particular, implementing the project will significantly improve the operational reliability of irrigation systems, eliminate water loss in the country's agro-industrial complex, and reduce budget expenditures on renovation programs for canals, protective dams, and other civil infrastructure facilities.
The company produces geosynthetic cement composite mats that eliminate water loss during filtration while maintaining the durable properties of the material. The basis of the technology is a rolled multicomponent material with a cement filler, which quickly hardens during hydration, forming a thin, durable, reinforced, and waterproof layer of concrete of a given flexibility, thickness, and shape. A feature of the technology is an increase in the installation speed. It also uses 95% less materials than when working with concrete mortars, significantly reducing the negative impact on the environment.
Y. Yelekeyev told the representatives of Concrete Canvas about the Republic of Kazakhstan's investment policy and the comprehensive support of KAZAKH INVEST investment projects. Considering the British company's plans to localize the production of concrete in Kazakhstan, the Chairman of the Management Board informed the representatives about the subsidy mechanisms and the advantages of concluding an Investment Agreement.
Following the meeting, Y. Elekeev assured the management of Concrete Canvas of the comprehensive support of the promising investment project.
