The Qatari Business Community is Interested in in Some Major Investment Projects in Kazakhstan
Meіrzhan Yussupov, Chairman of the Board of JSC «NC «KAZAKH INVEST», as part of a Kazakhstani delegation took part in the XX International Forum in Doha, during the visit of Mukhtar Tіleuberdi, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Minister of Foreign Affairs to the State of Qatar.
This year representatives of over 600 delegations from around the world, including the Heads of Governments, foreign policy agencies, representatives of international organizations, and the global expert community, as well as politicians and businessmen, exchanged views and discussed the topic of transformation for the new era. Geopolitical alliances and international agreements, the financial system and economic development, cyber and food security, as well as sustainable development, and climate change were also discussed.
On the sidelines of the Forum, the Kazakh Foreign Minister held bilateral talks with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar. The parties noted the intensification of bilateral cooperation over the past few years, discussed the current state and prospects for further development of Kazakh-Qatari cooperation, in particular the strengthening of trade, economic, and investment cooperation.
As Mukhtar Tіleuberdi noted, «Qatar is an important political and economic partner of Kazakhstan in the Arab world. An open and trustful dialogue has been established between our countries at the highest political level. We are confident that through joint efforts we will bring our cooperation to a qualitatively new stage of development».
Issues of creation of a joint investment fund and implementation of some large investment projects in the mining industry, agriculture, healthcare, and tourism, as well as projects within the state-private partnership, were discussed during meetings of representatives of the Kazakhstan delegation headed by Mukhtar Tіleuberdi with the Chairman of «Qatar Investment Authority» Mansoor Al Mahmud, the Chairman of Qatar Businessmen Association, the Head of «Faisal Holding» Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani and Mutaz Al-Hayyat, Chairman of the Board of «Power International Holding».
Also, the Chairman of the Committee on Investments of the MFA Ardak Zebeshev and Chairman of the Board of JSC «NC «KAZAKH INVEST» Meirzhan Yusupov held several meetings with the heads of Qatari companies during the visit. Meirzhan Yusupov told the Qatari partners in detail about the investment attractiveness of Kazakhstan and discussed the possibility of implementing investment cooperation projects in agriculture, construction, tourism, and others.
In particular, during the meeting with Mubarak Rashid Al Sahuti («Hassad Food Company») and the Head of its subsidiary «Widam Food», Alnubai Al-Marri pointed out that Kazakhstan, with its strategic location, stable political system, and exceptional potential in the agricultural sector, can play the role of a reliable supplier for the Qatari food market. «Widam Food Company», as a top-quality meat wholesaler and producer, plays an important role in securing meat supplies from around the world through multi-level supply chain planning, global investment in agriculture, support for local production, and strategic international partnerships.
Topical issues of mutually beneficial cooperation between Qatar and Kazakhstan were also discussed during talks with Omar Hussain Al-Fardan, CEO of «Al-Fardan Group» holding. This holding includes companies in the construction, automotive, hotel business, marine, and investment areas.
The head of JSC «KAZAKH INVEST» Meirzhan Yussupov said that Kazakhstan remains highly attractive for major foreign investors. In addition, he stressed that Kazakhstan looks forward to deepening investment cooperation with Qatar and reaffirmed its readiness for further comprehensive support in future projects.
