Coca-Cola Opens New Plant in Shymkent

Coca-Cola İçecek (CCI) has officially opened its third plant in the city of Shymkent. The new plant will have an annual production capacity of 283 million liters, creating 150 jobs. The project's cost is approximately 27 billion tenge and was realized with the support of JSC "NC KAZAKH INVEST."
The official opening ceremony was attended by Shymkent Mayor Gabit Syzdykbekov, Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Turkestan İlker Pak, U.S. Consul General Michelle Yerkin, and Industry Executive of the Task Force division at JSC "NC KAZAKH INVEST," Ainur Zhumanbayeva.
Erdinç Güzel, CCI’s Regional Director for Central Asia and the Caucasus, expressed gratitude to the government, Shymkent administration, and the local community for their invaluable support. He highlighted the company’s economic impact, stating:
"I am proud to say that CCI, as a market leader, has invested more than 106 billion tenge in the country since 1994, and this plant is a testament to CCI's commitment to its investment plans. Additionally, CCI's operations in Kazakhstan are among its leading business ventures today. This achievement has been made possible by the favorable and fair business environment created by the government of Kazakhstan. Since 2013, CCI has contributed 259 billion tenge in taxes and other mandatory payments to Kazakhstan's budget, and our ecosystem’s overall contribution to the country’s GDP has reached 475 billion tenge."
"The construction of the new CCI Kazakhstan plant in Shymkent is an important step in strengthening economic ties between Kazakhstan and Turkey. This plant will not only create new jobs and contribute to the development of the regional economy, but it will also serve as an example for other Turkish companies interested in investing in Kazakhstan. Furthermore, Coca-Cola İçecek Kazakhstan does not plan to stop its investment activities – we are discussing the construction of new plants in other regions of the country," A. Zhumanbayeva noted.
It is worth mentioning that the plant’s commissioning will generate jobs not only within the project but also in related industries such as logistics, equipment maintenance, raw material supply, distribution centers, etc. This will have a positive impact on the local economy by increasing employment and stimulating the development of small and medium-sized businesses in the region.
Like other Coca-Cola İçecek Kazakhstan facilities, the Shymkent plant adheres to strict international quality and sustainability standards. The company plans to implement advanced technologies to reduce environmental impact, including innovative solutions for reducing water and energy consumption in production processes.
The new plant is expected to become an important part of CCI Kazakhstan's strategy to expand its presence in the Central Asian market, delivering high-quality products to consumers while continuing to contribute to Kazakhstan's economic and social development.
