The world's leading gelatin producer intends to establish production in Kazakhstan

Belgian investors from the Tessenderlo Group are exploring the possibility of producing gelatin in Kazakhstan together with their Kazakh partner, KUSTO GROUP. The parties discussed the possibility of implementing the above project within the framework of the visit of the Kazakh delegation to the industrial complex in Belgium, organized by national company KAZAKH INVEST.

As part of the trip, Kazakh businessmen visited the PBLeiner plant for the production of gelatin and collagen peptides in Wilward. The company is one of the world's leading manufacturers of high quality gelatin and collagen peptides, with manufacturing facilities in the USA, Brazil, UK, Germany, China, etc.

The project involves the production of gelatin from the skin and bones of cattle. The businessmen are expected to jointly invest over $ 60 million in the project.

«Today we are considering the implementation of a large project for the processing of cattle meat with the participation of American investors and KUSTO GROUP. Accordingly, the question arises of further processing of animal skins and bones. In this regard, negotiations were held with the Tessenderlo Group company and subsequently a visit of the Kazakh delegation to the company's factories was organized», said Ainur Tumysheva, a representative of KAZAKH INVEST in Europe.

As a result of the visit, specific agreements were reached on a return visit of Belgian specialists to Kazakhstan for a detailed study of the available resources and infrastructure for the production location.

At the same time, the Belgian side came up with a proposal to implement another project in the light industry. Thus, a plant for the production of weaving equipment of the Picanol Group, which is also part of the Tessenderlo Group, was presented to the Kazakh delegation. This enterprise produces modern weaving machines. According to experts, the organization of such a production in Kazakhstan will significantly increase the competitiveness and quality of local products, as well as give an impetus to the development of the country's light industry.
