News - TikTok Intends to Expand Cooperation with Kazakhstan

Oleg Sokolov, Director at TikTok Eastern Europe announced this during a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Almas Aidarov and representatives of “NC “KAZAKH INVEST” JSC.

Launched in 2018, the international version of TikTok is one of the leading global Internet platforms with a global audience of over a billion users monthly.

TikTok delegation visited the Republic of Kazakhstan to discuss issues related to projects in the field of education, culture, tourism and other issues of platform development in the territory of Kazakhstan.

According to TikTok representatives, today, over 7 million registered users use the platform monthly in Kazakhstan. The company implements large-scale projects in the field of promotion of education and culture in many countries of the world, including Kazakhstan.

Oleg Sokolov noted TikTok’s intention to strengthen the cultural and cognitive content of the platform in the territory of Kazakhstan, including the promotion of national theatres and museums.

In turn, Almas Aidarov offered to consider the possibility of opening a representative office of the company in Kazakhstan and announced his readiness to provide comprehensive support to the company’s initiatives in the country.

During the visit organised with the support of “NC “KAZAKH INVEST" JSC and “Zerde” JSC, TikTok delegation held meetings with the Heads of Ministry of Culture and Sports, Ministry of Information and Social Development, Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry, Ministry of Education and Science of Republic of Kazakhstan and others.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to strengthen cooperation.
