Škoda is considering the possibility of localization in Kazakhstan

The prospects for locating the production facilities in the Republic of Kazakhstan were discussed at the meeting between KAZAKH INVEST and the representatives of the Czech companies Škoda Transportation and Elektrotechnika.

During the meeting, Regional Director of Škoda Transportation Roman Sorkin and Business Development Director of Elektrotechnika Libor Novak thanked KAZAKH INVEST for facilitating the visit of the Czech delegation to Kazakhstan, and expressed their interest in bilateral investment cooperation.


In turn, the Chairman of the Board of KAZAKH INVEST Meirzhan Yussupov noted that the development of investment projects in the field of mechanical engineering is one of the priority sectors of Kazakhstan’s economy, confirming further support for projects.


Czech companies are exploring the possibility of localizing the production of trolleybuses and electric buses in Kazakhstan as strategic and technological investors.

During the visit, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Czech Republic and KAZAKH INVEST, meetings were held in the Akimats of Almaty and Nur-Sultan as well as “NC “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” JSC, where the Czech companies discussed the prospects for cooperation in the provision of transport in megacities and modernization of public transport.

Škoda Transportation is one of the leading European manufacturers of such modes of transportation as metro, trams, trolleybuses, railway cars, electric trains and electric buses.

Elektrotechnika is a major manufacturer of various types of traction systems for tram and trolleybus networks for metro and railway transport.
