Prospects for the Development of Rare-Earth Metal Deposits Discussed in Astana

In Astana, within the framework of the 13th International Mining and Metallurgical Congress "Astana Mining & Metallurgy Congress," a panel session titled "Investing in Rare and Rare-Earth Metals of Kazakhstan: Advantages and Risks" took place. The session, organized by "NC "KAZAKH INVEST" JSC gathered over 100 participants representing various industrial and investment sectors.

During the panel session, participants discussed the current state and prospects of the industry, the geology of rare and rare-earth metals, the lithium sector, plans for implementing lithium and yttrium projects based on existing deposits, as well as the opportunities for integrating innovative technologies into ongoing projects.

The session was moderated by Bauyrzhan Aitkulov, the Head of Projects of the Investment Task Force Division at "NC "KAZAKH INVEST" JSC who noted that Kazakhstan has great potential for the development of rare metal production. These metals are increasingly in demand due to the development of renewable energy and related industries. They are used in various high-tech products such as batteries, magnets, and electronic devices. According to him, the demand for rare metals will continue to grow in the coming years, and Kazakhstan has the capabilities to meet this demand thanks to its rich reserves.

During the session, the Deputy Chairman of the Committee of Geology of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan presented a report on promising sites for identifying rare and rare-earth metal deposits. The General Director of Republican State Enterprise "National Center for Technological Forecasting" Al-Farabi Ydyryshev provided information on the state and prospects of development of the rare metal and rare-earth industry in Kazakhstan, while the Chairman of the Board of JSC "NC "Tau-Ken Samruk" Bakyt Chirchikbaev focused on tungsten deposits "Severny Katpar" and "Verkhnee Kayrakty."

Additionally, the founder of "Creada Corporation" LLP Daniyar Aubakirov, the Chairman of the Board of "Ordabasy Group" Dinmukhamed Bayzhanov, and others also spoke at the session.

The event generated significant interest among participants and served as a platform for active exchange of opinions, experiences, and ideas in the field of investments in rare and rare-earth metals of Kazakhstan. The speakers expressed confidence that such events would contribute to the further development of the industry and attract major investors to the country.
