New international airport opened in Turkestan

A new international airport has been opened in Turkestan, reports the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.

“The project for the construction of the first new airport in independent Kazakhstan has become one of the largest and most significant objects in Turkestan. The new airport of Turkestan will contribute in the development of tourism in the region, it will satisfy the need of people for air transportation services," reads the report.

The airport with the capacity of 450 passengers per hour has been constructed with attraction of foreign investments.

"From the new international airport of Turkestan, at the first stage, Kazakhstani airlines will open flights to Nur-Sultan, Almaty, and in the future, as the spiritual center of the Turkic world, Turkestan will be connected with other regional centers of Kazakhstan," reads the report.

At the initial stage, Turkish Airlines  is going to open flights to Istanbul.
