Mongolian Companies Interested in Developing Cooperation

In Ulaanbaatar, Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gabidulla Ospankulov held meetings with the Director General of the Agency for Investment and Trade of Mongolia Enkhbaatar Vorshilov and representatives of Mongolian companies such as Yanmal LLC, Erdenet Carpet LLC, Mon-It Buligaar JSC, and Mon Budusheye LLC.

At a meeting with E. Vorshilov, G. Ospankulov presented information about the Republic of Kazakhstan's investment climate, the Investment Headquarters' work, and the investment attraction system. In turn, the Mongolian counterpart voiced the Agency's desire to develop cooperation, exchange experience, and further cooperation. Following the meeting, the parties agreed to consider the possibility of signing a Memorandum of Understanding in the near future.

Further, the Chairman of the Committee held several meetings with Mongolian private companies.

So, at a meeting with Yanmal, representatives of the company said that the first manufacturer of socks in Mongolia has the ability to produce about 20 thousand pairs of socks and accessories per day. Pure cotton and wool products are exported to 20 countries around the world.

Erdenet Carpet is a major national developer and a leading Mongolian company that processes sheepskin wool to produce carpets by machine. The company represents 75% of domestic carpet products, has representative offices in China and the Russian Federation, and exports about 20% of its volume to more than 20 foreign countries.

Mon-It Buligaar is the first tannery in Mongolia. The company manufactures and sells all types of processed leather for shoes, bags, and clothing. The production capacity of the deep processing enterprise is up to 2.2 million hides per year. Mon Budusheye is also a tannery that exports most of its products to countries such as Italy, Turkey, Japan, and South Korea.

During meetings with representatives of companies, G. Ospankulov noted Kazakhstan's interest in attracting investment projects in the light industry, taking into account Mongolian knowledge and experience of technological developments in this area.
