News - KGIR-2024: 31 agreements worth $7 billion were signed in Astana

Thirty-one documents worth $7 billion were signed within the Kazakhstan Global Investment Roundtable-2024 framework. ACWA Power, GE Healthcare, Ultradecor, CHN Energy, Alstom, Fufeng, “Nobel AFF” JSC, Carlsberg, and LLP “Zhetysu Tungsten” were the event's partners. The concluded agreements aim to develop strategic partnerships in key economic sectors, including agriculture, energy, education, transport, etc.

Thus, the Akimat of the Akmola region, JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST" and the Chinese company Dalian Hesheng Holding Group signed an agreement for $650 million to implement a project for deep processing of wheat aimed at maintaining food security in the region and developing the agro-industrial complex of the country. The Akimat of Astana and "Kazak Protein" LLP signed a memorandum implying the construction of a plant for deep wheat processing for $204 million. KAZAKH INVEST and Solico Group, one of the largest food industry companies in the Middle East, signed a memorandum of cooperation worth $150 million to build a production plant for French fries.

The Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan, KAZAKH INVEST and CHN Energy have agreed to implement a project to produce carbon chemical products worth $4 billion in the energy sector. The agreement between SILK WAY ENERGY LTD and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan provides for the construction of a natural gas liquefaction plant in the Zhetysu region with an investment volume of $305 million. As part of renewable energy development, an agreement was reached with Neptune Wind LLP on the construction of a 90 MW wind farm worth $72.3 million. Finally, the Akimat of the West Kazakhstan region and Hyundai Solar KZ 777 LLP signed a memorandum of cooperation for the construction of a solar power plant, a waste recycling complex, an incineration complex, and a modular greenhouse complex for $167 million.

Several documents are aimed at developing social cooperation. Among them is a cooperation agreement between Nazarbayev University and the AstraZeneca UK Limited representative office in the Republic of Kazakhstan, aimed at developing educational, scientific, innovative, and research activities, improving the quality of training and retraining of personnel. Akimat of Astana and CF "Freedom Shapagat" signed a memorandum of cooperation for $10 million, implying the construction of a French school in Astana. In the digital sphere, a memorandum was signed between the Akimat of Astana and Freedom Telecom LLP to create a modern data processing center for $225 million.

In the field of transport and logistics, a memorandum of cooperation between the Akimat of Pavlodar region and the company "RAIL WAY" LLP, aimed at constructing an electrometallurgical plant for $433.3 million, became significant.
