Kazakhstanis Will Be Able to Build Greenhouses Themselves Using Dutch Technologies
Kazakh agricultural producers and students of agrarian universities have an opportunity to learn Dutch greenhouses construction technologies. Training on the best international practices will take place within a series of webinars, initiated by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in the Netherlands, KAZAKH INVEST and Dutch Greenhouse Delta.
The first webinar “Modern greenhouse technologies: challenges and opportunities” was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to the Netherlands Askar Zhumagaliyev, Foreign Representative of KAZAKH INVEST in the Netherlands, Ulbosyn Sarybayeva, Heads of foreign agricultural companies, Union of Greenhouses of Kazakhstan as well as domestic agricultural producers. In total, about 150 participants attended the event.
Opening the webinar, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in the Kingdom of Netherlands, Askar Zhumagaliyev noted that as thanks to the technologies and digital solutions, the Netherlands managed to achieve consistently high yields and product quality, thus, becoming the world's second-largest food exporter.
“In the online sessions, leading Dutch companies will share their knowledge and best practices in applying these innovations. I hope that this knowledge will encourage Kazakhstani businesses to adopt the experience of the Netherlands”, - said Askar Zhumagaliyev.
The moderator and executive director of the Dutch Greenhouse Delta, Erik Egberts shared with the audience that the company acts as a single window for complex, large-scale projects related to food and flower growing in developing cities. Working with Dutch partners, DGD offers a single horticultural ecosystem, Fork2Farm, consisting of scientific research, entrepreneurial expertise, education, and relationships with the government agencies.
Representatives of the leading Dutch companies KUBO, Van Der Hoeven and Certhon presented to the audience the advantages of Dutch greenhouse complexes and specialized equipment. The Dutch experts shared about the latest greenhouse technologies, different kinds of greenhouses, as well as gave the views on how to start a greenhouse project, what factors are important when implementing such project, etc.
In turn, the President of the Union of Greenhouses of Kazakhstan Nurlan Adilkhan thanked the Dutch colleagues for their assistance in the introduction of modern digital solutions.
The representatives of the Dutch companies also announced their plans to visit Kazakhstan in April and conduct a series of training courses for local specialists. The first webinar ended with the Q&A session, during which the Kazakh farmers received answers to their questions.
