On June 5, the 27th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum commenced, featuring a business dialogue titled "Russia - Kazakhstan." The thematic panel included representatives from the public and private sectors of both countries, including the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan (RK), Serik Zhumangarin, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of RK to the Russian Federation, Dauren Abayev, and the Chairman of the Board of JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST," Yerzhan Yelekeyev.

Serik Zhumangarin opened the discussion with a welcoming speech, wishing participants a productive dialogue and highlighting the high potential for expanding bilateral relations.

Dauren Abayev spoke about the strategic importance of Kazakhstan-Russia relations and the vision for this cooperation in 2024.

"Today, Kazakhstan and Russia are implementing 135 joint investment projects worth over $26 billion, creating 28,000 jobs, which is a record figure in recent years. We expect these numbers to continue growing," noted the Ambassador in his speech.

Yerzhan Yelekeyev emphasized the growing potential for developing bilateral relations and the need to increase mutual investments for joint projects. He also informed Russian partners about favorable changes in Kazakhstan's investment environment.

"Currently, over 19,000 enterprises with Russian participation are successfully operating in our country. There are good results, leading projects, and very promising initiatives in the investment sector. Russia remains one of the largest investors in our economy. Joint projects contribute to the development of technologies, the opening of new markets, and the creation of jobs. Last year marked a record result – the gross inflow of investments approached the $3 billion mark," said the Chairman of KAZAKH INVEST.

Yerzhan Yelekeyev also presented prospective niches for potential investment projects to Russian business representatives, including the mining and metallurgical complex, petrochemicals, and the automotive industry. Concluding his speech, the Chairman invited Russian businesspeople to engage in joint projects.
