Kazakh Delegation Met with Leading American Companies
During the working visit, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu, Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gabidulla Ospankulov, and Foreign Representative of JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST" in the United States Marat Birimzhan held bilateral meetings with representatives of such leading American companies as PepsiCo, Google, Mastercard, Citi, Visa and Mars, during which they discussed strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation by attracting investments in priority sectors of the economy of Kazakhstan.
In addition to these meetings, G. Ospankulov also held talks with Pini Althaus, the owner of Cove Capital. The Chairman of the Committee noted significant progress in the development of the company's projects in Kazakhstan, including the creation of infrastructure for processing rare earth metals. The company's projects aim to increase exports of high-tech products and create jobs in key industrial regions of Kazakhstan.
Pini Althaus stressed the strategic importance of Kazakhstan as a key area for investment in the mining industry. He also announced Cove Capital's intentions to expand its presence in the country through new investment initiatives. Currently, the company is conducting geological exploration in the East Kazakhstan region, and as a result, Cove Capital plans to build a high-tech mining and metallurgical plant. In turn, the project will make it possible to close the entire cycle of processing of rare earth metals – from enrichment and hydrometallurgy to producing finished products with high added value.
In addition, G. Ospankulov met with representatives of Dorilton Capital to discuss promising projects in the field of coal chemistry, including the transfer of advanced technologies for processing coal to create products with high added value. Special attention was paid to environmental aspects and minimization of environmental impact.
During the visit, G. Ospankulov also spoke at the 5th Caspian Business Forum, organized by the Caspian Political Center and dedicated to "Building a sustainable future in the Caspian region through strengthening ties and combating climate change." In his speech, the Chairman of the Committee stressed the importance of international cooperation in creating a sustainable and integrated economy in the Caspian region, paying special attention to the development of the transport and logistics infrastructure of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.
In addition, G. Ospankulov participated in the conference "Vision of Adapted Crops and Soils: Improving Food Security at the Intersection of Climate, Land Degradation, and Biodiversity," organized by the Business Council for International Understanding. The event platform brought together representatives of the largest agro-industrial companies and leading experts in sustainable agriculture. The Chairman of the Committee discussed the prospects for cooperation in the agricultural sector of Kazakhstan, which has significant resources for producing grain and other agricultural products. The country continues to attract investments in innovative and environmentally sustainable technologies, which opens up new opportunities to increase the added value of products and increase Kazakhstan's competitiveness in world markets.
