Jordanian Business Interested in Investment Cooperation
During his working visit to Amman (Jordan), Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gabidulla Ospankulov held several meetings with representatives of such companies as «Al-Taqaddom Pharmaceutical Industries», «Harmony Investment», «Jazeerat Al-Yaqut Company», «Nafith International», «Al Jazeera Agriculture Company» and «DadVet», as well as with the Chairman of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce. During the meetings, the parties discussed the companies' interest in implementing joint investment projects in the fields of pharmaceuticals, food industry, chemical industry, gas processing, agriculture, transport, and logistics.
At a meeting with Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce Khalil Muhammad Al-Hajj Tawfiq, G. Ospankulov discussed the development of bilateral cooperation in priority sectors of the economy and also explained the advantages of working in the Kazakh market and the country's investment potential. In order to give further impetus to economic cooperation, the parties stressed the importance of organizing cross-visits and intensifying trade and investment cooperation, using the capabilities of the "Middle Corridor" to solve transport and logistics issues.
At the meeting with Al-Taqaddom, the parties discussed the prospects for developing the pharmaceutical industry in Kazakhstan. The Jordanian company implements projects in Saudi Arabia and North Africa, producing over 60 modern medical products supplied to the local market and abroad. The Kazakh delegation also visited the Al-Taqaddom pharmaceutical plant and got acquainted with the production process.
At the meeting with Nafith, the parties discussed the possibility of implementing investment projects in Kazakhstan's transport, logistics, and infrastructure fields. The company has implemented several projects in Jordan, Iraq, and Oman and has invested over $70 million. As part of the Kazakh-Jordanian round table, Nafith signed three agreements on mutual understanding and technical cooperation with such Kazakhstani companies as Yurt Tech LLP, Quryq Port LLP, and RWA Service LLP.
In addition, at a meeting with representatives of Al Jazeera Agriculture, the possibilities of developing cooperation in the food industry of Kazakhstan were discussed. The company is the only Jordanian poultry producer licensed to export and sell chicken meat to Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Al Jazeera Agriculture produces about 60 million kg of chicken meat and 100 million hatching eggs and processes over 4,000 tons of beef annually, occupying about 23% of the Jordanian market.
Representatives of the Jordanian business community showed great interest in implementing joint promising projects and expressed hope for successful cooperation with Kazakhstani partners.
