It is worth noting that the working visit of the Head of State Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev to Germany in February this year included a meeting with the Executive Director of Siemens AG Joe Kaeser covering the discussion of prospects for strengthening investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and Siemens. Today's online meeting has become one of the intermediate steps in agreeing and implementing joint plans.

During the online meeting, special attention was dedicated to the discussions on implementation of the agreements under the Memorandum of Understanding signed earlier between the Government of Kazakhstan and Siemens, represented by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar and the President of Siemens in Russia and Central Asia Alexander Liberov.

Thus, the Government of Kazakhstan and Siemens agreed to cooperate in such areas as digitalization and automation of the industrial sector, intelligent transmission, electricity distribution and sustainable energy generation. Particular emphasis in today's conversation was made on issues of digitalization as well as development of the healthcare and energy sectors.

According to the investor, the company is interested in developing technological cooperation and local experience in the field of technology, including introduction of the new methods and modern technology base. The representatives of the company announced their readiness to apply current experience in the field of industrial digitalization, which involves joint development of priority areas for digitalization, improving the regulatory framework, training for specialists, investing in digital technologies as well as developing infrastructure together with the Kazakh side.

During the discussions on the digitalization of the healthcare sector, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Almas Aidarov noted the need to identify possible points of interaction with partners, as along with highly qualified personnel it is necessary to develop the equipment of medical institutions. Almas Aidarov also offered several  proposals in order to further develop relations with the investor. Along with this, instructions were given to KAZAKH INVEST for providing assistance and service support to the investor in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

As for the energy sector, the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan and Siemens considered the prospects of using new concepts - intelligent management systems.

All the proposals discussed during the meeting will be substantively studied by a dedicated working group with the participation of the government bodies. The working group will apply an integrated approach to identify potentially effective projects.
