The project It provides for the construction of a small hydroelectric power station (HPP) with an installed capacity of 2.0 MW on the Akmolinsky main canal in the Panfilovsky district of the Zhetysu region. The maximum power generation capacity is 8,640,000 kWh.

The initiator of the project is the RSE «Kazvodkhoz».

What is the appeal of the project?

  • Environmental safety. Electricity generation at a hydroelectric power plant significantly reduces the amount of harmful emissions into the environment with minimal water consumption, and the used water is discharged into the river through the flow part of the turbine.
  • Reliability of the raw material base. The raw material for electricity generation is the runoff of the Tentek River, the precipitation level in the catchment area of the river is relatively stable, and the risk of reducing river drainage is estimated to be minimal.
  • State support. The renewable energy sources sector (RES) is actively supported by the state. Today, RES sector enterprises are exempt from paying for electricity transmission services, they are provided with predictable and long-term tariffs and a guaranteed purchase of all generated electricity.
