Azamat Kozhanov
Deputy Chairman of the Management Board
Kozhanov Azamat was born in 1987 in the Kostanay region. He is a citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 2009, he graduated from Suleyman Demirel University in Almaty with a degree in Management. In 2011, he earned a Master’s degree in Business Management from the University of East Anglia, United Kingdom, as a Bolashak program scholarship recipient.
A. Kozhanov began his professional career in 2012 at the international company Samsung Electronics. From 2012 to 2016, he held executive positions within the company, leading business operations across eight countries: Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Mongolia. He was also responsible for international trade in the Jebel Ali Free Economic Zone (Dubai, UAE).
From 2016 to 2019, he was engaged in entrepreneurial activities in Almaty.
In 2017, he served as Director of the Investment Projects Department at JSC "NC "SPC "ASTANA" in Astana.
Since 2019, he has been working at JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST".
From 2020, he held the position of Managing Director at JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST" and led the Task Force negotiation group within the framework of Investment Agreements with the Government.
Since April 2024, he served as Acting Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST".
On March 3, 2025, he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of JSC "NC "KAZAKH INVEST".
Currently, he serves as an Independent Director on the Board of Directors of the "Khorgos – Eastern Gate" SEZ, "ICBC Khorgos" SEZ, and "Jibek Joly" SEZ.
He held the position of an Independent Director on the Board of Directors of the SEZ "Khorgos – Eastern Gate", SEZ "ICBC Khorgos", and SEZ "Jibek Joly".
He is the Chairman of the NGO "Kazakhstan Green Hydrogen Alliance" (Linde, AirLiquide, Svevind, etc.) and an honorary member of the Expert Council on Petrochemicals and Oil Refining for Central Asia and the Caspian region.
He has been awarded letters of appreciation and honorary certificates from the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2024), the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan (2021), and others.
In 2022, he was awarded the "30th Anniversary of the Diplomatic Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan" medal.
