Success Story - JSC «Rahat»

Joint stock company "Rahat" is one of the largest manufacturers of confectionery products in Kazakhstan, leading its history for 75 years.
The first production of confectionery was organized in 1942 on the grounds of the distillery, on equipment evacuated during the war from Moscow and Kharkov.
JSC "Rahat" employs about 4,500 people.
Production facilities are located at two sites in Almaty and Shymkent.
The universal nature of production, its scale and the presence of its own line for processing cocoa beans allow the company to have the widest range of confectionery products among domestic manufacturers. To date, the assortment portfolio of JSC "Rahat" includes more than 400 names of various confectionery products belonging to 14 different groups.
JSC "Rahat" is the only confectionery enterprise in Kazakhstan, mastered the production of special products for people suffering from diabetes. This range includes several types of chocolate, sweets, cookies and waffles with reduced calories and sugar replacement for equivalent natural raw materials.
In 2013, South Korea's leading confectionery company LOTTE Confectionery acquired a major stake in Rakhat JSC. In 2015, LOTTE Confectionery, acquiring outstanding shares of Rakhat JSC, increased its stake to 92.44 %.
Since 2016, joint Stock company "Rahat" has received the right to produce products that meet the requirements of Halal. "Association" Halal industry of Kazakhstan " confirmed compliance with the Halal standard 186 products of JSC "Rahat", including chocolate, candy, caramel, cookies, iris, waffles, as well as semi-finished products of chocolate production. The Association's experts conducted a review of all stages of production of JSC "Rakhat", including the Shymkent industrial site. A thorough analysis of the documentation for raw materials and ingredients for the production of confectionery products was carried out.
