Kazakh Invest conducted high-level meetings with South Korean companies during investment seminar in Seoul.

On December 5, "Kazakhstan in a changing Eurasia" business seminar was held in Seoul, attended by more than 80 representatives of leading businesses and organisations from across South Korea. The event was held at the headquarters of KOTRA, South Korea’s state-funded trade and investment promotion organisation.

Kazakh Invest's Managing Director Ms. Saltanat Shunayeva delivered welcoming remarks to the participants at the beginning of the seminar, outlining how Kazakhstan is responding and thriving in reflection of a “Changing Eurasia” concept.

Seungwook Kim, Director General of KOTRA presented information on bilateral relations between Korea and Kazakhstan, as well as on the dynamic cooperation between KOTRA and Kazakh Invest.

Director for regional support of Kazakh Invest Mr. Zhandos Temirgali presented governmental incentives for foreign investors, as well as the investment opportunities in Agribusiness. Kazakh Invest's project manager Mr. Sanzhar Yessenbayev informed the Korean companies about the infrastructure, IT, and machinery sectors of Kazakhstan. Project manager of Kazakh Invest Ms. Aliya Salimzhuarova presented the investment opportunities in Kazakhstan's Energy industry.

Mr. Iskander Baitassov, Director at Beijing Representative Office of Samruk-Kazyna, informed participants regarding his organization and opportunities for investments and partnerships. Presentations were also delivered by KazMunayGas, Zerde, Kazmortransflot, and private legal company Integrites.

On the sidelines of the seminar, Kazakh Invest held a number of meetings with the Korean businesspeople, including representatives of such companies as Lotte Capital, POSCO, Kunyoong IBC, Smart Farm, Samhwa Paints.

This seminar represents the latest development in strengthening economic and financial cooperation between Kazakhstan and South Korea. Kazakhstan has become South Korea’s most important trading partner in Central Asia, and the Korean businesses have already invested more than $4 billion in Kazakhstan.
