Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia: Expanding Investment Cooperation
A meeting with Abdullah Alarfaj, Director of Asia and the Pacific Affairs at the Agency for International Investment Relations of the Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia, was held at KAZAKH INVEST NC JSC.
During the talks, the participants discussed the February visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan to Saudi Arabia and the planned signing of the Intergovernmental Agreement on the Protection and Promotion of Investments and the Agreement on the Establishment of the Coordinating Council.
A substantive exchange of views took place on pressing issues on the investment agenda. G. Ospankulov emphasized the prospects for expanding investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and Saudi Arabia in priority economic sectors. In this regard, it was emphasized that the signing of the Intergovernmental Agreement on the Promotion and Mutual Protection of Investments, as well as the Agreement on the Establishment of the Kazakh-Saudi Coordination Council during the visit, provides additional impetus for the development of bilateral cooperation.
In turn, A. Alarfaj noted the successful organization of the Regional Environmental Summit 2026 and emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation in the areas of green energy and digitalization. Furthermore, in the context of the implementation of the Vision 2030 program, he confirmed the strong interest of Saudi companies in implementing investment projects in Kazakhstan and noted the importance of building sustainable interagency contacts.
Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to continue the dialogue to advance bilateral cooperation.
