The Republic of Lithuania remains one of the leading trade partners of Kazakhstan.

This year the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Lithuania celebrate 30 years of diplomatic relations.

For three decades of cooperation, the countries have established close ties across the whole range of bilateral cooperation, including political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.

Lithuania was one of the first countries to ratify the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Kazakhstan and the EU in 2016. Implementing the agreement contributes to expanding the horizons of political interaction and deepening economic ties between Kazakhstan and the EU member states, both bilaterally and at the regional and global levels.

The high level of political relations between Kazakhstan and Lithuania formed favorable conditions for the realization of the potential in the trade and economic sphere as well. Lithuania is among the ten major trade partners of Kazakhstan in the European Union and the thirty largest partners in the world.

In 2021, the volume of mutual trade amounted to $ 454 million, including export from Kazakhstan - $ 356.3 million, imports to the RK - $ 97.5 million.

The main export items in Kazakhstan are oil and oil products, and copper and copper alloys. The main import items are dairy products and cheese, poultry, and meat products.

Today, about 170 Lithuanian companies are represented in the Kazakhstan market. Kazakhstan is among Lithuania's twenty largest trade partners.
