Arriving in Kazakhstan
Since January 1 of this year, the visa-free regime with 54 countries has been resumed.
But it is important to emphasize that foreigners still need permission from the Interdepartmental Commission (IDC) to enter the country.
The exception is for citizens of countries with which Kazakhstan has resumed direct regular flights.
The exception does not apply if a foreigner crosses the border of the Republic of Kazakhstan not by air, but by land transport (railway, auto); that is, a permit from the IDC will be required.
Visas for entry into the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan shall be issued by the diplomatic missions of the MFA of the RK on the basis of the agreed invitation (visa for support). In the absence of foreign institutions of the MFA of RK in the host country, visa for is issued in neighbouring countries according to the list of interchangeability of embassies and consulates of the Republic of Kazakhstan consular offices or international airports in the city Nur-Sultan and Almaty on arrival.
Investors can choose to enter the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan visa for categories "investor",
"business" and "business immigrant" depending on the purpose of the visit.
Investor visa for
Who can get?
managers and/or Deputy head and/or heads of structural units of legal entities engaged in investment activity on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan and members of their families.
Single-entry visa business immigrant
Issued up to 90 days with the possibility of stay in Kazakhstan for all period of validity of the visa.
Multiple entry business immigrant
Issued up to 5 years with the possibility of stay in Kazakhstan for all period of validity of the visa.

Category B2:

Single entry business visa
For category B2 and B3 is issued for a period up to 90 days with the possibility to stay in Kazakhstan for up to 30 days.
Multiple entry business visa
Category B2 issued multiple-entry business visa for a period up to 180 days with the possibility of stay in Kazakhstan up to 90 days. A B3 multiple-entry business visa is issued to: founders or members of the board of directors; persons arriving for negotiations, conclusion of contracts in the framework of cooperation in the field of industrialization and investment; this visa is issued for a period of validity up to one year with the possibility of staying in Kazakhstan for no more than 30 days at each entry).
Electronic visa for
An electronic visa (business, tourist and medical treatment) is issued on the basis of a valid invitation from the Kazakh side, issued in the units of the migration service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the prescribed manner.
Foreigners can enter / leave the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan using a valid electronic visa only through checkpoints at international airports of the cities of Nur-Sultan and Almaty.
Tourist electronic visas are issued to citizens of 117 states, business and for treatment - 23 states (a list of countries is attached).
An electronic visa is valid only for the visa recipient and does not apply to accompanying persons.
Paid consular fees are non-refundable.
The passport provided by the visa recipient must meet the following criteria:
1) do not raise doubts about the authenticity and belonging to its owner, contain notes on renewal, reservations, entries, erasures and corrections, torn or embroidered pages;
2) have at least 2 blank pages;
3) its validity expires no earlier than 3 months from the expiration date of the requested visa.
Hosts inform the migration service about foreign citizens staying with them within three business days from the day they arrive (this service is available online on the Visa and Migration Portal).
Step-by-step electronic visa processing algorithm:
- To obtain an electronic visa, you must register on the website of the Visa-Migration Portal (www.vmp.gov.kz);
- after registration get acquainted with the requirements for obtaining an electronic visa;
- enter the invitation number (sent by the inviting party in the Republic of Kazakhstan) and fill out the visa application form;
- pay a consular fee;
- print an electronic visa (a visa is formed in your account and sent to the email address specified when filling out the questionnaire);
- present a printed electronic visa when passing through passport control at the international airports of the cities of Nur Sultan and Almaty.
A business immigrant
Who can get?
An immigrant who has arrived with the goal of conducting business activities in accordance with the Migration Act.
Single-entry visa business immigrant
Issued up to 90 days with the possibility of stay in Kazakhstan for all period of validity of the visa.
Multiple entry business immigrant

Contacting the Embassy/Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan: in case of positive consideration of the invitation, given the number of approvals for transfer to diplomatic and consular missions of the Republic of Kazakhstan with submission of the following documents and information:

STEP 1 - Appeal to the State Corporation "Government for citizens" :
For visa category of "investor" required the submission of the petition the authorized body on investment.
The applicant (or his representative by proxy) shall attach to the application the following documents:
1
a copy of the document proving the identity of the person claimed to receive investor visas with a notarized translation into state or Russian language (with validity of passport at least three months before the expiry of the requested visa);
2
a copy of the Charter of the applicant (if the applicant is a legal entity, the original is submitted for verification);
3
a copy of the document confirming the title of the person in accordance with paragraph 3 of this regulation (in case the applicant is a legal entity, the original is submitted for verification);
4
copies of the documents confirming the fact of investment of the applicant in the investment project (documents confirming actual expenses of the investor are: primary accounting documents, in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan on accounting and financial reporting, invoice issued in accordance with the tax legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, customs Declaration, executed in accordance with the customs legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the original is submitted for verification).
The service provider decides on the results of the petition in the presence of one of the following conditions :
1
implementation by the applicant of projects within the priority sectors of the manufacturing industry in accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan from August 1, 2014 No. 874 "About approval of the State program of industrial-innovative development of Kazakhstan for 2015-2019 and about entering of addition into the decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 19 March 2010 № 957 "On approval of List of state programs";
2
the membership of the applicant in the foreign investors Council under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
3
the applicant's investment contract with the authorized body on investments;
4
implementation applicant project, according to the decree of the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated 31 December 2014 No. 1418 "On the Republican industrialization map in 2015 - 2019";
5
the applicant's recommendations to government bodies or quasi-public sector entities confirming the implementation by the applicant of the investment project on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The deadline of the application for the issue of the petition is eleven working days. The authorized body within three working days of receipt of the application and documents attached to the application, checks the completeness of submitted documents. In case of submission by the applicant of an incomplete package of documents, the authorized body within the specified period gives a reasoned refusal in further consideration of the application.

a copy of the Charter of the legal entity or of a patent;

a copy of the order on appointment of the head of the legal entity;
4
the order of the legal entity about appointment of its representative for the delivery of documents or power of attorney;

a copy of the identity card of the attorney.

a medical certificate confirming the absence of diseases, the presence of which prohibits the entry of foreigners and stateless persons into the Republic of Kazakhstan;

certificate of the presence or absence of a ban on entrepreneurial activity on the basis of a court decision issued by an authorized body of the country of citizenship or permanent residence. Visa recipient must be of legal age.
