The largest wholesale distribution center in Kazakhstan launched in Karaganda

On 4 July 2020, the largest wholesale distribution center in Kazakhstan was launched in Karaganda with the participation of the Akim of Karaganda region Zhenis Kassymbek. The project value is 24 billion tenge. The center includes warehouses, vegetable store, customs clearance zone, etc. The capacity of the center for loading and unloading goods as well as cargo handling will be more than 350,000 tons annually.

KAZAKH INVEST assisted the investor in signing the Investment Contract with the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, obtaining a state in-kind grant as well as solving a number of issues arising during the implementation of the investment project.

“We are very grateful to KAZAKH INVEST for the assistance. The main goal of the wholesale and logistics center is to supply with food products the region and the entire country with the potential to export to the neighboring countries. Here, local farmers will be able to sell their products without intermediaries, they will be provided with more than 1000 trading lots. I can confidently say that this project is one of the largest and most modern transport and logistics complexes in Kazakhstan. During the construction of the facility, we used the best practices of our colleagues from France. Millions of tons of transit cargo pass through Kazakhstan annually, which require special storage. For the sale of goods to the local market on the territory of the complex, you can get customs clearance services,” - said the Founder of Global City.

According to the project initiators, three warehouses have been located on an area of 60 hectares: dry storage, climate and temporary storage as well as customs warehouse with a total area of 14 thousand square meters, with a storage capacity of up to 12,000 tons of products. The parking space capacity is 300 trucks.

For the convenience of product sales, the project provides two cross-docks in which 164 trucks can trade simultaneously. Also, the project includes trading pavilions with an area of 9 thousand square meters, a cargo terminal for 124 containers and meat pavilion with a total area of 2,000 square meters.

The implementation of the project created about 500 new permanent jobs. In addition, over 2000 jobs will be created with the 100% filling of the shopping arcade. In the future, it is planned to expand shopping areas and construct a modern hotel complex.
