A business Delegation from the Omsk Region of the Russian Federation Visited Kazakhstan

Prospects for cooperation in a wide range of areas in agriculture, engineering, and education were discussed during a visit to Nur-Sultan by a delegation from the Omsk region of the Russian Federation, headed by Deputy Minister of Economy of the region Konstantin Chulovsky.

The event was organized by the Foreign Trade Chamber of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Atameken" with the support of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Russia and "NC "KAZAKH INVEST" JSC.

During the visit, an "Exchange of contacts of entrepreneurs" of the two countries was held, in which about 60 Russian and Kazakhstani companies took part. In addition, bilateral meetings were held with representatives of the Akimat of Nur-Sultan.

 As the guests noted, Kazakhstan has a favorable investment climate and conditions for business development. The Russian delegation was presented with new government measures in the field of investment support, the possibilities of special economic and industrial zones of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the country's potential in priority sectors.

Opening the event, Konstantin Chulovsky commended the pace of Kazakhstan's economic growth, high investment attractiveness and noted the increasing interest from Russian business. He said that the trade turnover between the Omsk region of the Russian Federation and Kazakhstan exceeded $380 million - our country is the number one partner for the region.


Altynai Mukanova, representative of KAZAKH INVEST spoke in detail about the business climate in Kazakhstan, as well as its investment opportunities. In her speech, she also acquainted the participants of the event with the achievements of Kazakhstan in economic development, promising areas of Kazakh-Russian trade and economic cooperation, as well as measures taken by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan to further improve the investment climate in the country.

For their part, representatives of Omsk companies acquainted the audience with the scope of their activities, presented a vision for the further development of Kazakh-Russian investment cooperation, and also expressed interest in the implementation of new joint projects.


As part of the visit of the Russian delegation to Nur-Sultan, negotiations were held between the Omsk Agrarian Scientific Center and the National Agrarian Scientific and Educational Center, the guests visited the Research and Production Center for Grain Farming named after A.I. Baraev, where they were acquainted with the practice selection and seed production of cereals, leguminous crops, perennial grasses and potatoes, improvement of agricultural technologies for cereals, legumes and fodder crops based on cost-effective, environmentally friendly methods and energy-saving technical means.

During the meeting of the Omsk delegation with the management of Astana Invest, an agreement was reached on the preparation of a list of interested Kazakh companies to create joint ventures, in particular with Omsk Electromechanical Plant JSC and BIORESURS LLC.

The basis of the economy of the Omsk region of the Russian Federation is oil refining, chemistry and petrochemistry, mechanical engineering and metalworking, energy complex, food production, agriculture, forestry. The share of industrial production in the structure of the region's gross regional product is about 40%. The largest industrial enterprises are:

Agriculture in the Omsk region of the Russian Federation is a highly developed industry. About 10% of the gross regional product is created there. The share of production in crop production is about 55%, in animal husbandry - 45%. Crop production is dominated by the production of wheat, barley, oats, buckwheat, legumes, potatoes and vegetables. In animal husbandry, the leading ones are meat, dairy and breeding cattle breeding, pig breeding, and poultry farming.
