According to the Swiss side, they plan to establish caviar farms in Kazakhstan worth at least $10 million. Currently, negotiations are held with several Kazakhstani partners in several regions of the country.

In addition to developing the industry and introducing modern technologies, the Swiss businesspersons intend to look for new channels to distribute caviar on the international market and train Kazakh specialists.

«Our partners conduct similar projects in France. We would like to note that it is quite realistic to organize annual caviar production of up to 50 tons and 500 thousand kilos of fish meat at fish farms of Kazakhstan. We intend to return the caviar industry of Kazakhstan to its former glory and make the brand recognizable. We plan to create a sustainable long-term business and jobs», - said Xavier Rey, Executive Director of Swiss Choice Holding SA.

In his turn, Chairman of the Committee on Investments of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ardak Zebeshev emphasized, «The Kazakh side is interested in the successful implementation of the project and investors may receive additional support from the state within the investment contract. First of all, it is the exemption from customs duties and VAT on imports. In addition, there are preferences for some taxes, as well as government grants».

As a result of the meeting, the parties signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The day before the Swiss investors also signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources Serikkali Brekeshev, and discussion of plans for the fish farming project with the Vice-Minister of Agriculture Zhenis Oserbay.
