Roundtable Held in Astana on Economic Cooperation Between Kazakhstan and North Macedonia

As part of the official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of the Republic of North Macedonia, Timcho Mucunski, to Kazakhstan, a roundtable was held dedicated to strengthening bilateral cooperation in investment, tourism, and technological development.

The event brought together representatives of government agencies, investment institutions, business communities, and industry organizations from both countries. From the Kazakh side, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of “NC “KAZAKH INVEST” JSC Azamat Kozhanov took part in the roundtable.

During the discussion, the participants explored prospects for joint implementation of projects in industry, digitalization, green energy, tourism, and logistics. Both sides identified potential for expanding trade and investment ties and agreed on the importance of transitioning from dialogue to concrete initiatives.

Speaking at the session, Azamat Kozhanov emphasized that Kazakhstan views North Macedonia as a promising and pragmatic partner for accessing the Balkan and European markets:

“We are interested in project-based cooperation — where real joint value can be created. This includes not only processing industries, but also exchanges in logistics, sustainable energy, and digital solutions. I am confident that today’s meeting lays a strong foundation for new initiatives and long-term partnerships.”

In turn, Timcho Mucunski noted North Macedonia’s ambition to expand dialogue with Central Asia, emphasizing Kazakhstan’s key role in the architecture of regional cooperation and its significant potential for joint work across various sectors of the economy.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties expressed interest in continuing the bilateral dialogue and outlined concrete steps to advance joint projects in the near future.
