Roman Sklyar shared about special investment conditions for German businesses
The delegation fr om Kazakhstan headed by the Deputy Prime Minister, Roman Sklyar, made a working visit to Germany to conduct substantive negotiations with the heads of large German enterprises interested in establishing trade, economic and investment cooperation with Kazakhstan.
During the visit, the roundtable “Kazakhstan and Germany: expanding economic cooperation” took place in Dortmund. The event attracted the first leaders of the largest German companies operating in the high-tech sectors of the German economy. Among them are SMS group GmbH (metallurgy), OTTO FUCHS KG (production of car parts, aircrafts), Dillinger Hüttenwerke AG (mineral processing), Weidmüller Interface GmbH & Co. KG (electrical engineering), Amazonen-Werke H. Dreyer GmbH & Co. KG (agricultural machinery production), Düchting Pumpen Maschinenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG (production of pumps), Aurubis AG (processing of minerals), COMPO GmbH (agricultural chemistry), and others.
“Our goal is interaction with German investors, we will monitor all projects with the participation of German capital, facilitate their expeditious implementation, providing a wide range of state support measures, quickly and efficiently solve problems. By introducing project management, we hope to achieve serious results in the shortest possible time,” - said Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar during his speech.
During the roundtable, the parties discussed special conditions for German businesses that were first voiced during the visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev to Germany in December last year. These include a tax exemption regime in special economic zones, provision of infrastructure, etc. In addition, the prospects of bilateral Kazakh-German cooperation in the fields of machinery building, agriculture, transportation, logistics and high technology were discussed.
During the event, Roman Sklyar held bilateral meetings with the heads of Siemens AG, Tönnies Holding ApS & Co. KG, Aurubis AG, Schuler AG and OTTO FUCHS KG. At the meetings, the parties discussed specific proposals for the implementation of joint projects and production of high-tech products.
Germany is one of the key trade and economic partners of Kazakhstan in the European Union. Trade turnover between the two countries increased by 10.5%, reaching $ 2.1 billion.
Last year, the volume of foreign direct investment from Germany to Kazakhstan, wh ere almost 1,000 German and joint ventures are now operating, amounted to more than $ 400 million, and the total investment exceeded $ 5.2 billion. About 90% of German investments in Kazakhstan go to non-oil sector.
