On the creation of a special negotiating team in Kazakhstan to work with investors

In pursuance of the instructions of the Head of State on reforming the investment management system, a special group was created to work with potential investors - Task Force.

A joint order on the creation of the Task Force was signed today by the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mukhtar Tileuberdi and the Governor of the Astana International Financial Center Kairat Kelimbetov. The Task Force is a special team of negotiators at the Investment Headquarters, which is responsible for organizing the work and setting the agenda of the Investment Headquarters. It will provide end-to-end support of projects from the development process, structuring to the start of the investment project.

Currently, the initial composition of the team has been formed, which includes employees of KAZAKH INVEST and the AIFC as permanent members. The Task Force will also involve employees of central government bodies, local executive bodies, financial institutions, the quasi-public sector and the National chamber of entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan “Atameken", alsorepresentatives of the embassies of Kazakhstan abroad. 

Specific projects being worked out with investors will be submitted for consideration by the Investment Headquarters chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The task of the investment headquarters is to make a managerial decision to ensure special conditions for the investor and to sign the Strategic Investment Agreement under the Law on Economic Growth Recovery, which entered into force on January 16 of this year (signed on December 2, 2020).
